Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters are the hottest set of toys to come around in many a year. Mr. Squiggles, Chunk, Pipsqueek and Num Nums have taken the toy world by storm!

Who Are the Zhu Zhu Hamsters?

There are four main hamsters in the Zhu Zhu lineup: Mr. Squiggles, Num Nums, Pipsqueek and Chunk. There is a 5th wheel, "Patches", but he isn't available by himself (yet).

First there is Mr. Squiggles, who is the most popular of the Zhu Zhu Pets toys. From the beginning, he's been a hit, maybe because is a "normal" hamster color. Mr. Squiggles is an active creature, and utters all kinds of squeaks and other sounds should he bump into something in his travels.

Num Nums is a girl hamster, right along with Pipsqueek. So for any child that adores playing with dolls, Num Nums is the perfect doll in hamster form. Let her wander and the gray-colored Num Nums talks to everything she meets. And when it comes to the carrier and blanket, she snuggles down quite nicely.

Pipsqueek is another very popular Zhu Zhu hamster, right after Mr. Squiggles in demand. A soft yellow color, Pipsqueek see-saws between running around fast an furious and settling down to accepts love and affection from your child.

Last but not least, Chunk is one of the boy hamsters in the Zhu Zhu Pets line. Not quite a scurrier like Pipsqueek or Mr, Squiggles, Chunk is a calm hamster. And he's also a sufer! Yep, Chuck can ride a surf board with the best of them! I like to think that Chunk, who has white fur, was named because he looks like a chunk of white chocolate.

What about Patches? Well, at the moment you can only buy Patches (a yellow and white hamster) as part of a set, like with the funhouse. You never know, Patches might eventually be available individually.

Who Makes Zhu Zhu Hamsters?

The Zhu Zhu Pets are made by the toy manufacturer Cepia LLC. A few of their more notable toy successes include the Glo-e bear, Hydro Max and Sky Raptors. Zhu Zhu Pets toys are sometimes misspelled Zoo Zoo Pets toys or Zu Zhu Pets toys, but rest assured; they are one and the same!
